Merit Badges
What are Merit Badges?
Merit Badges allow Scouts to learn about over 130 different subjects. From Animation to Woodworking, Scouts can learn about almost anything! Click on the image to view the list of merit badges.
Eligibility
Any BSA Scout can earn a merit badge at any time. Scouts do not need to have earned a rank to complete merit badges.
Completing Merit Badges
Look below to learn the 4 steps of completing merit badges. Familiarize yourself with these steps, as you will have to use them a LOT through your Scouting journey.
Troop 682 offers most of the 130 merit badges offered by Scouts BSA. You can earn other Merit Badges at Summer Camp. Click here to check out the list of merit badges!
Troop 682’s merit badge program is lead by Mrs. Vlasto. Email her at kvlasto@icloud.com with the name of the merit badge you are interested to start. Once she assigns you a counselor, you can start signing off requirements! (Please remember to CC Mr. Thompson so he can assign your counselor in Scoutbook)
Once Mr. Thompson approves your counselor in Scoutbook, you can start completing requirements. Contact your counselor to discuss your completed requirements. Once the counselor is satisfied that you have met each requirement, they will sign it off it Scoutbook.
After you complete the merit badge, and your counselor approves every requirement in Scoutbook, you have completed the merit badge! You will receive the merit badge patch at the Troop’s next Court of Honor (we have 3).
